As reported April 9, by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a resident of the Berezanska territorial community has been notified of suspicion of committing lewd acts of a sexual nature against a minor, committed by a family member — part 2 of Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the investigation, a 53-year-old man, beginning in March 2026, committed unlawful acts against his 13-year-old stepdaughter.
At the prosecution’s request, the court chose for the suspect a preventive measure — pre-trial detention. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Investigative Department of Police Department No. 8 of the Mykolaiv Regional Unit of the National Police.
The article’s sanction provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term from 5 to 8 years with possible deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.
