NABU and the SAP announced the completion of the pre-trial investigation into the case of the head of one of the parliamentary factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, who is suspected of offering an improper benefit to other members of parliament; the NABU press service reported.
According to the investigation, in December 2025, despite previously established cases of Members of Parliament receiving bribes, the suspect began coordinating payments with certain parliamentarians in exchange for voting in the interests of a particular political force.
The arrangements included personal instructions on voting “for” or “against”, as well as abstaining from voting or not participating in the work of parliament. For fulfilling such conditions, cash payments were offered in advance.
In January 2026 the head of the faction was notified of suspicion. As previously reported, NABU and the SAP served a notice of suspicion to Yulia Tymoshenko, after which additional details of the case emerged.
Yulia Tymoshenko herself publicly responded to the investigation materials, stating that the recordings published by NABU captured her conversation with Servant of the People MP Ihor Kopytin, who, she believes, acted to discredit her.
was carrying out the bureau’s instructions
After that, Ihor Kopytin reacted: the MP from the Mykolaiv region responded to Tymoshenko’s accusations, denying her claims; details were published in the article at this link.
NABU clarifies that the investigation materials have been compiled and opened to the defense for review in accordance with procedural norms, after which the indictment may be forwarded to the court.
