Water wasn't supplied again: in Mykolaiv the promised deadlines were missed, and the launch was postponed for another month
The work is 94% complete, but the launch has been postponed for at least another month
As of the beginning of April 2026 in Mykolaiv the supply of drinking water to the city network has still not been launched, despite earlier promises to complete all work by the end of March. The facility is currently at the final stage of preparation for the launch. This was reported to Suspilne by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine — Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba.
According to him, as of now about 94% of all work has been completed. The treatment facilities have in fact been built within the planned timeframes, however preparation for commissioning processes is still ongoing.
“Preparation for commissioning work continues: they are checking the equipment, connections, engineering systems and main units.”
The official also said that these works may continue for approximately about a month. After their completion a preliminary water treatment station should begin operating in Mykolaiv, which will allow supplying practically potable water to the network. Thus, residents will have to wait at least a few more weeks.
