3 April The National Association of Advocates of Ukraine (NAAU) reported that former Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, who now chairs the NAAU committee for the protection of those affected by the war, together with colleagues made a trip to the combat zone to provide military personnel with legal consultations as part of the “Advocate+” project.
The NAAU clarified that this week the first direct on-site consultations of lawyers to units at the front have started. In the association’s statement they emphasized:
This week the first on-site visits of lawyers directly to units in the combat zone took place within the framework of the Advocate+ project
Joining the initiative were Andriy Yermak, committee members Ihor Andriev, Polina Marchenko, Vadym Hatezh, as well as NAAU advisor Artemii Karpenko. The start of the field phase of the project was announced on the NAAU website: details here.
During the trip, the lawyers held meetings with military personnel of the 157th OMB, 79th ODShB and the 3rd Operational Purpose Brigade “Spartan”, providing legal clarifications and consultations to the units’ fighters.
