In Ukraine, from April 1, 2026 a one-time targeted supplement from the state in the amount of 1,500 hryvnias is being introduced for certain categories of people who already receive a pension or state social payments; the Pension Fund of Ukraine reported this.

The basis for the accrual is the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 341 “Some issues of providing a one-time cash supplement to certain categories of the population.” The government decision stipulates that the supplement is assigned to recipients of already established pensions or social payments, and the Pension Fund detailed the procedure for its provision in its clarification. For pensioners there is a limit on the total amount of pension provision: the total pension with all supplements, increases and other payments must not exceed 25,950 hryvnias.

The right to receive the payment is held, in particular, by recipients of the following types of pensions:

insurance pensions: old-age, disability, and survivor’s pensions (in connection with the loss of a breadwinner);
pensions for long service and special pensions (for civil servants, local government officials, members of parliament, scientists, military personnel);
disability pensions or pensions in the event of the loss of a breadwinner among military personnel and civil servants, those affected by the Chornobyl NPP accident, as well as recipients of social pensions.

The Pension Fund separately emphasizes that this rule on the maximum pension amount does not apply to certain groups.

“At the same time, persons who took direct part in the defense of Ukraine and family members of those killed (deceased, missing) of such persons, and participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chornobyl NPP accident are granted the supplement regardless of the size of the pension”

Separate categories of recipients of state social assistance who can also count on this supplement have been identified. Among them:

internally displaced persons receiving housing assistance;
low-income families — recipients of state social assistance;
recipients of basic social assistance;
persons with disabilities, including those with disabilities from childhood, as well as children with disabilities;
persons who provide care for people with disabilities due to a mental disorder;
citizens of pension age without a pension entitlement who have been assigned temporary state assistance;
recipients of child benefits: single mothers, guardians/caregivers, families with children who have serious illnesses, large families, as well as children deprived of parental care;
caregiver-parents and foster parents who receive monetary support.

The Pension Fund clarified the terms and procedure for accrual: the procedure will be carried out without applications and additional appeals, and if a person has multiple grounds, the supplement will be paid for only one of them.

“The payment of the assistance will take place in April 2026 automatically – no additional application is required. Important: if a person is entitled to this supplement on several grounds, funds will be paid only on one of them”
