Fatal collision between a motorcycle and an excavator in Mykolaiv region
The accident occurred at 12:10 in Novohryhorivka when an excavator was carrying out road works
On Wednesday, 1 April, at about 12:10 in the village of Novohryhorivka in Voznesensk district of Mykolaiv region a motorcycle collided with an excavator, resulting in the death of the motorcycle rider.
The regional police reported the incident, clarifying that the collision occurred between a Volvo BL71B backhoe-loader and a Rorye 200 R motorcycle.
A 43-year-old man was at the wheel of the excavator, performing road works. The motorcycle was ridden by a 24-year-old driver. The injuries he sustained were incompatible with life — he died at the scene.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, informed the excavator driver of suspicion under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for a punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 8 years.
