Three attempts to assault women in one evening - and no arrests
A series of attacks on women ended with the suspect receiving a lenient preventive measure
In Lviv the Shevchenkivskyi District Court issued a high-profile decision regarding a case about a series of attacks on women that took place in one evening in the Riasne neighborhood. According to data published in the public domain, the suspect is a native of the town Pidvolochysk, Ternopil Oblast, had no prior convictions, has a child to support and holds the status of a combatant.
The first episode, according to the provided data, occurred on 13 November at around 21:45 on Panas Sotnyk Street. Later, at approximately 23:05, the attack was repeated in the square “Blue Park” on Shevchenka St., 360-a. About ten minutes later the investigation recorded another similar incident — this time in the entrance of a residential building. In all three episodes the women managed to thwart the assailant’s actions — thanks to resisting, screaming, and because he fled as soon as there was a risk of being noticed.
According to available information, 25 February 2026 the man was notified of suspicion of a completed attempt to commit sexual violence without the victim’s voluntary consent, committed repeatedly. After that the investigator applied to the court with a request for a preventive measure.
In the end the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lviv applied not detention but a personal obligation for a period of two months. Among the duties imposed on him are to appear before the investigator, the prosecutor and the court, not to leave the region without permission, and to surrender documents for traveling abroad. This decision became the main irritant in this story, because against the backdrop of three episodes in one evening such a preventive measure appears extremely lenient to many.
