The first Ukrainian LLM has been named Syaivo: a joint development of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Kyivstar

Ukrainians have chosen the name for the first national language model: in an open vote, «Сяйво» won, the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported after the results were tallied.

According to the ministry, more than 136 thousand people took part in the plebiscite, and «Сяйво» received the most support — 22,601 votes.

The model is being developed jointly by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the telecom operator «Kyivstar», and after launch it is expected to be integrated into the pan-European digital space. The ministry announced the results on its Telegram channel here.

«Сяйво» is planned to be used in government services, business processes, educational tools, and for defense needs. The model is expected to speed up data processing, help automate routine tasks, and become the foundation for creating new digital products.

Ten unique options made it to the final of the contest, but this name gathered the most support from Ukrainians.

The ministry emphasizes that the emergence of a national LLM is not only a technological project but also a step toward strengthening Ukraine’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
