Liked the occupiers on "Odnoklassniki": a Ukrainian was sentenced

27 March 2026 a verdict was published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions, by which the Starosambirskyi District Court of Lviv Oblast found Taras H. guilty of supporting Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine through activity on a banned Russian social network.

As established in the case materials, during 2023–2024 the defendant liked posts on “Odnoklassniki” that glorified the Russian army and its command. Among other things, he reacted to a post about Russian General Sergey Surovikin, and also supported posts about the course of hostilities presented from the occupiers’ perspective.

During the trial the man fully admitted his guilt, confirmed the circumstances of the case and expressed remorse. Also, as stated in the verdict, he transferred 20,000 hryvnias for the needs of one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the end the court sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment, but exempted him from serving it with a two-year probationary period. In addition, he will be ordered to pay 9,600 hryvnias in expenses for the conducted expert examinations.

Separately, the court ordered the confiscation in favor of the state of the ZTE phone from which the defendant liked pro‑Russian posts. The verdict can still be appealed.
