In Mykolaiv in March 2026, specialists from the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection inspected drinking water dispensing points and recorded violations in informing consumers, as well as one sample with an excess chloride content.

The agency emphasized that monitoring the quality of water sold to the public through dispensing points continues on an ongoing basis so that consumers receive a safe product and have full information about its characteristics.

During the March inspections, 4 business entities providing water supply services through a network of dispensing points were covered. For laboratory tests, 30 samples were taken and analyzed for sanitary-chemical and microbiological parameters.

As a result of the analyses, one non-standard sample was found by physicochemical parameters: the chloride content was 367 mg/dm³ with the norm not exceeding 350 mg/dm³. The violation was recorded at the address: Vul. Vilna, 38.

In addition, during the collection of information it was found that requirements were not met regarding providing consumers with information about the type and composition of the water, its storage conditions, the location of the underground water source, and the well number and depth. Information materials also lacked references to regulatory documents and the results of laboratory tests of water quality.

Business entities were sent recommendations to eliminate the identified violations and to bring the information provided into compliance with current requirements.
