On the night into Sunday, March 29 2026, Ukraine will switch to daylight saving time. At 03:00 Kyiv time the clock should be moved forward by one hour — to 04:00.

The question of canceling seasonal clock changes remains open. In July 2024 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law to stop changing the clocks and to switch to permanent winter (standard) time. In August 2024 the document was sent to President Volodymyr Zelensky for signature, but he did not sign it, so the clock changes remained in effect. This triggered wide discussion in society and the media.

Medics warn that the time change can affect well-being. In the first week after the clock change it is recommended to reduce physical and mental exertion, as the body adapts to the new rhythm.

Doctors explain what to do after the switch to daylight saving time.

“In the first week after the clock change, doctors advise limiting physical and mental exertion, since at this time the nervous system undergoes a certain readjustment to the new rhythm. People with chronic illnesses, as well as those with high blood pressure, should monitor their condition more closely for two to three weeks. They also recommend going to bed earlier and spending as much time as possible outdoors”.
