Mykolaiv Oblast may become subsidy-dependent in 2026, - Kim
For the first time ever, due to a lack of funds, a region may be granted subsidized status
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, said that in 2026 the Mykolaiv region may become subsidized for the first time due to a lack of funds. This issue was discussed on the program “Tuzov’s Move”.
Previously the region managed to independently cover all protected budget items, but the situation may change because of rising salaries and social standards. Vitaliy Kim explained that the regional budget is now entirely directed toward supporting these increases.
“Perhaps this year will be the first, because with salary increases, because with the rise of social standards our budget is now fully allocated to meeting these increases. And there may not be enough funds. Then we will appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers to ask them to help us. But all these years it has not been,” – he said, answering the host’s question about whether the Mykolaiv region is a subsidized region.
