In Ukraine, schoolchildren and students will be trained for national resistance
The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law establishing a system to prepare citizens for national resistance
25 March the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law that provides for the creation of a system to prepare citizens for national resistance.
Parliament noted that 263 deputies voted for the new law. The document provides for the opening of specialized training centers where citizens will be able to acquire practical skills, including the ability to shoot. Classes will take place at training grounds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, certified shooting ranges, and using modern simulators.
Particular attention will be paid to young people. A new subject will be introduced in schools and other educational institutions: “Fundamentals of National Resistance”, and the course “Defense of Ukraine” will be updated.
Training will become mandatory for all students and schoolchildren, regardless of gender. For those who for religious reasons cannot use weapons, alternative options will be offered. People with disabilities will be exempt from practical classes.
The law also defines the procedure by which authorities will organize this training system.
