In the Mykolaiv region, more than 4,000 square meters of reeds and dry grass burned, and rescuers extinguished six fires

In the Mykolaiv region over the past day, on 22 March, rescuers extinguished 6 fires in open areas where reeds, dry vegetation and garbage were burning; the fire spread over more than 4000 sq. m, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region reported.

Rescuers reported on the course of the work and the consequences of the fires in a statement published on the official channel of the State Emergency Service in Mykolaiv region.

Ignitions of dry vegetation, reeds and garbage were recorded on open plots in the Pryvilnenska community of Bashtanskyi district, the Pivdennoukrainska community of Voznesensk district, the Arbuzynska and Kamenomostivska communities of Pervomaiskyi district, as well as in the Voskresenska community of Mykolaiv district.

In total, the flames covered an area of more than 4000 sq. m, which required an operational response from several units.

A separate incident was noted at an auto-garage cooperative in Mykolaiv, where tires burned along with garbage.

Emergency Service units were involved in eliminating the consequences: 24 rescuers were deployed and 6 pieces of equipment were used.

The causes of each fire are being determined by specialists.
