Kirpi armored vehicle in downtown Mykolaiv knocked down a traffic light and a lamppost and rammed two cars

In the center of Mykolaiv during the day on Saturday, March 21, an armored vehicle caused an accident at the intersection of Velyka Morska and Artileriiska streets, damaging two cars; the driver of one of the vehicles was injured.

A correspondent from «Novin-N» reported the incident from the scene.

Witnesses said the armored vehicle was traveling along Velyka Morska from Vadym Blahovisny (Nikolska) Street toward Arkasivska (Pushkinska). At the intersection the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle suddenly veered left onto the sidewalk: it knocked down two trees, a lamppost and several road signs, after which it rammed a Mercedes van and a Toyota Corolla that were stopped at the red traffic light.

All vehicles, including the armored vehicle, sustained mechanical damage. The Mercedes driver was injured; an ambulance crew was working at the scene.

The traffic light at the intersection is not functioning; wires are torn down. Traffic on Velyka Morska toward Arkasivska is significantly disrupted.
