In Odesa, they will pay 30,000 hryvnias for downed drones
A reward has been introduced for volunteer mobile air defense groups for each destroyed target
In Odesa, cash rewards have been introduced for volunteer mobile groups: for a shot-down enemy drone, 30 thousand hryvnias will be paid per team. The corresponding decision was made by the executive committee of the Odesa City Council at an extraordinary meeting on 19 March.
The decision was made as part of the city program to support territorial defense for 2022–2028, which covers volunteer preparation, their training and upskilling, as well as medical and psychological examinations. A video broadcast of the meeting is available at: YouTube.
A key element of the updated procedure is monetary incentives: for each destroyed airborne object, 30 thousand hryvnias are provided for the entire group, which are equally distributed among the participants who directly took part in bringing down the target.
To receive the reward, the commander of the volunteer formation submits a report confirming the result, indicating the time, place of the incident and the composition of the group. After verification, the package of documents is forwarded to the military administration, and the final decision on payment is made by the mayor.
Payments do not extend to servicemen of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, even if they are part of the respective mobile groups.
