Singer Olya Polyakova reported rude treatment by Polish border guards while crossing the border at night en route to the United Kingdom; she told about the incident in a story on Instagram March 15.

The artist noted that during the check she was awakened, forced to open her luggage and subjected to a thorough search of her personal belongings, while they spoke sharply and without unnecessary explanations.

Describing the moment of the inspection, she quoted the border guards as saying:

«They woke me up, turned my whole suitcase over, rummaged through my personal belongings. They spoke harshly: “Photo! Documents! Show! Open!”»

According to her, the behavior of one of the inspectors was openly provocative. Polyakova added that she called what was happening a “nightmare” and deliberately restrained herself so as not to provoke a conflict, because she feared that in the event of a dispute she might be removed from the flight or denied entry across the border.

She also drew attention to the difference in treatment of passengers: a foreign passenger who was traveling nearby was let through quickly, without a luggage inspection, and was politely thanked.

After this situation, the singer spoke with Ukrainian acquaintances, and, according to her, they told her about similar cases at the Polish border.
