Fire in a multi-story building in Mykolaiv: a man died, another was rescued
Rescuers extinguished a fire in an apartment and evacuated two residents; seven fires were extinguished in the region in the past 24 hours
During the past day the fire and rescue units of Mykolaiv region extinguished 7 fires, including a blaze in an apartment in Mykolaiv on the 6th floor of a nine-story building where a man died; this was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region (link).
In the Korabelnyi district of the regional center, fire broke out in an apartment on the 6th floor of a nine-story building. Rescuers entered the smoke-filled dwelling and began evacuating people.
Two men were carried out from the fire scene. One of them, 1961 year of birth, was unconscious; medics performed resuscitation measures, but they were unable to save him — the man died.
The second injured person, 1978 year of birth, refused hospitalization. Separately, two more residents were evacuated from the upper floors; they did not require medical assistance.
Household items and furniture burned; the fire was extinguished over an area of 17 sq. m.
In the same district, a fire on open ground was extinguished: tires and wooden sleepers burned over an area of 50 sq. m.
In addition, during the day there were 4 more cases of fires of dry grass, reed and garbage — in Mykolaiv, in Novyi Buh, on the territory of the Olshanska community of Mykolaiv district and in the Pivdennoukrainska community of Voznesensk district.
