Tragedy in Irpin: an 11-year-old girl and her father were killed
According to preliminary reports, the father shot his ill daughter, after which he committed suicide
In Irpin near Kyiv a man shot his sick 11-year-old daughter and took his own life; the Kyiv region police reported the tragedy.
Law enforcement informed that preliminary data point to a domestic setting for the crime. According to them, the suspect is the child’s 52-year-old father.
“Preliminary findings indicate that the 52-year-old man, while in the premises with his 11-year-old daughter, likely shot the child in the head with a firearm, after which he took his own life. It is also known that the girl was ill”
The bodies of the deceased were sent for forensic medical examination. Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, and the pre-trial investigation is being conducted on suspicion of intentional homicide and inducing suicide.
