Alcohol brings people together… until the first knife

Bloody drunken brawl near Mykolaiv: a man stabbed an acquaintance several times in the chest and shoved him out of the house

In the Mykolaiv district the pre-trial investigation has been completed regarding a 41-year-old man who during a drunken quarrel attempted to kill an acquaintance. Now his fate will be decided by a court — under the charged article he faces up to 15 years of imprisonment.

The incident occurred on December 16, 2025 in one of the houses of a garden association in the settlement Nadbuzke. According to the investigation, a conflict arose between the two men while they were drinking alcohol together. In the heat of the quarrel the suspect grabbed a folding knife and inflicted at least several blows to the chest area of the acquaintance. After that he literally pushed the wounded man out of the house.

The victim — a 35-year-old man — was hospitalized in serious condition by medical personnel. A report of the stab wounds was received by Police Department No. 5 of the Mykolaiv District Directorate.

Law enforcement officers quickly identified the attacker and his whereabouts. It turned out that he is a local resident who had previously already been on the police’s radar. He was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and was notified of suspicion.

The investigation classified the man’s actions as a completed attempt at intentional murder — Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment has already been sent to the Mykolaiv District Prosecutor’s Office, which forwarded the case to court for trial on the merits. The accused is currently in custody.

According to the law, the final decision regarding guilt and punishment will be made by the court. Until that time the person is presumed innocent.
