On Sunday evening, March 15, a domestic gas explosion occurred in a private house in the village of Bratske in Mykolaiv region, resulting in the deaths of two children.
A report of the incident was received on the 101 line, after which rescuers arrived at the scene and began dismantling the destroyed structures, the regional Department of the State Emergency Service (SES) reported.
Under the rubble they found a boy born in 2017. The child was handed over to an ambulance crew and taken to a medical facility in moderate condition.
During further search-and-rescue operations they recovered two more children — girls born in 2014 and 2022. Medical personnel performed resuscitation measures on site, but they could not be saved.

The article’s sanction provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
The SES emphasizes the danger of domestic gas and advises regularly checking gas appliances and ventilation ducts, and at the first signs of a smell — turning off the valve, ventilating the premises and contacting the emergency gas service.
