Children play among rebar: a football pitch in the Korabelnyi District has turned into a trap
Football with elements of extreme sports: the sports field looks more like a dangerous obstacle course
On March 13, 2026, a resident of the Korabelnyi district of the city of Mykolaiv, who in the appeals system signed as “Iren Adler”, contacted the Contact Center at the Mykolaiv City Council with a complaint about the dangerous condition of the football pitch in the courtyard of residential buildings at Okeanivska St., 60, 60A, 64. According to her, the sports ground is in an effectively emergency/dilapidated condition, posing a threat to the children who play there every day.
The appeal states that the pitch’s fence is significantly damaged: one of the metal sections has been torn out and lies on the ground, the gate has been ripped from its mounts, and individual metal bars and rebar protrude outward. All this can cause injuries to children who use the area to play football or simply for active recreation. In addition, the field surface is essentially just soil and gravel, which also does not meet the requirements for safe children’s sports grounds.
The resident asks the city authorities to respond promptly to the problem and remove the dangerous elements, repair the damaged fence, and also consider the possibility of installing a modern safe surface for the children’s sports ground.
The same day the Operational Response Service commented under the appeal that the complaint had been accepted for review: “Your appeal has been registered under number 65081”
It remains to wait for a real response from the municipal services regarding this hazardous area for children.
